iPlugDelaware Monthly Meeting to be Held February 23, 2016

The February 2016 meeting of iPlugDelaware will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2016 at 7:30 am at the Panera Bread in Fairfax Shopping Center (2311 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803). As usual, the meeting will be in the community room in the back of the restaurant. Meetings last about an hour and are normally held the third Tuesday of each month (this month’s meeting was delayed due to President’s day). Meetings are free to attend and are open to anyone in the legal community.

Meeting Agenda:

  • The iPad as a laptop replacement;
  • Apple Watch Apps worth using;
  • Favorite “law-related” iOS app; and
  • Tablet Alternatives to iOS (Microsoft Surface).

If you have not attended a meeting before, they are a great place to learn about how technology can help with your law practice. You do not have to own any of the devices we talk about, and we are all happy to learn about new technology that has saved you time or added to your well-being.

iPlugDelaware Meeting – Tuesday September 15, 2015 – Here Comes iOS 9

The meeting will be in the community room in the back of the restaurant. Meetings last about an hour and are held on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are free to attend and are open to anyone in the legal community.

Meeting Agenda:

If you have not attended a meeting before, they are a great place to learn about features of mobile devices that can help make you more productive. All meetings are interactive and provide those attending with an opportunity to ask questions or demonstrate apps or devices that they use in practice. Although a large focus of the meetings are on Apple devices and services, our meetings are used as an opportunity to learn about all relevant mobile devices and technologies and frequently include discussion of Microsoft Windows based devices, Google Android devices, and wearables that are used by those attending the meeting.

iPlugDelaware August Meeting on August 18, 2015 at 7:30 am

Screenshot 2015-08-17 14.38.06The August monthly meeting for iPlugDelaware will be held at 7:30 am on Tuesday August 18, 2015, at the Panera Bread in the Fairfax Shopping Center (2311 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803). The meeting will be held in the community room in the back of the restaurant. Meetings normally last about one hour and are held on the third Tuesday of each month. As a reminder, our meetings are free to attend, no registration is needed, and the meetings are open to anyone that works in the legal community.

This month we will again discuss the upcoming release of iOS 9, the recent update of iOS 8.4.1, and rumors about the next version of the iPhone (expected to be announced next month). We will also show off some of our favorite productivity apps, and have plenty of time for questions or demonstrations of apps from those in attendance.

We look forward to another great meeting, and encourage anyone that has been considering attending, to stop in for your first meeting. Please feel free to attend even if you do not currently have an iPad or iPhone, but you are curious on how the devices may improve your practice.

Our April iPlug meeting will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2015, at the Panera Bread in Fairfax at 7:30 am. Panera is located at 2311 Concord Pike, Wilmington Delaware. The meetings are held in the back room of the restaurant. Normally meetings last about 1 hour. 

Meetings are free to attend and no registration is necessary. If you have never attended a meeting, they are informal and are a chance for users in the legal community to share their experience using mobile technology in their practice and to learn from the experiences of others. It doesn’t matter if you are an attorney, a Judge, a paralegal, a law student or other support staff, if you are associated with the legal community and you are interested in mobile technology, please join us Tuesday morning. 

This Friday’s Apple Watch release will be thoroughly discussed, including  thoughts on the order process, alternate watch bands, and Apple Watch try-on appointments. As always, the floor will also be open for attendee questions, discussion, and demonstrations.

iPlug Wilmington March Meeting – March 17, 2015 – Let’s Talk Time

What better way to start your Saint Patrick’s Day than talking about the iPad, iPhone, MacBook, and Apple Watch. Our March iPlug meeting will be held on Tuesday March 17, 2015, at the Panera Bread in Fairfax at 7:30 am. Panera is located at 2311 Concord Pike, Wilmington Delaware. The meetings are held in the back room of the restaurant. Normally meetings last about 1 hour. 

As always it is free to attend our meetings and no registration is necessary. If you have never attended a meeting, they are informal and are a chance for users in the legal community to share their experience using mobile technology in their practice and to learn from the experiences of others. It doesn’t matter if you are an attorney, a Judge, a paralegal, a law student or other support staff, if you are associated with the legal community and you are interested in mobile technology, please join us Tuesday morning. 

Last Monday’s Spring Forward announcement by Apple will be thoroughly discussed, including initial thoughts on the Apple Watch, the new 12″ MacBook, ResearchKit, and the price reduction of the Apple TV. We will also discuss the release of iOS 8.2 and Apple’s public beta program for iOS. As always, the floor will also be open for attendee questions, discussion, and demonstrations. 

Since our last meeting, we have also created a Facebook page and a Twitter account in order to provide even more updates to those interested in mobile technology. iPlugDelaware Wilmington Meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2014

November 18 2014 iPlugDelaware MeetingTomorrow November 18, 2014, marks the third Tuesday of November, so that means it is time for our monthly meeting. The iPlugDelaware meeting will take place at the Panera in Fairfax as usual, and will begin at 7:30 am. Panera is located at 2311 Concord Pike, Wilmington Delaware. The meetings are held in the back of the restaurant. Normally meetings last about 1 hour.

The topics for this month’s meeting include:

  • Microsoft Office Apps released for iPhone
  • Microsoft Office Apps now free to use on iPhone/iPad
  • Is using a fingerprint less secure than a passcode?
  • Can malicious apps replace legitimate apps on your iPhone/iPad
  • ApplePay thoughts (you can try it yourself while at Panera!)

As always, participation from attendees are welcome, and since this is a users’ group, we are always happy to discuss topics of interest to anyone attending (or learn about an app that you find useful). This is a friendly group, and if you have not yet attended one of our free meetings, please stop in. No pre-registration is required.

iPlug Delaware Wilmington iPad User Group Meeting Tuesday October 21st

Tomorrow, Tuesday October 21, 2014 is the third Tuesday of October, so that could only mean one thing, it is time for this month’s iPlug Delaware Wilmington Meeting. As always, the meeting will be start at 7:30 am and be held in the backroom of the Panera’s in Fairfax. These meetings are open to members of the Delaware Legal Community (including lawyers, judges, paralegals, and other law firm staff), and offer a friendly environment to discuss using the iPad and iPhone in your legal practice. The meeting generally last about 1 hour, and attendee interaction is strongly encouraged.

At this month’s meeting, we plan to discuss the release of the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, and iPad Mini 3. Topics will also include the release and new features found in iOS 8 and 8.1 and the use of TouchID in third party applications. Since this is a user group, any general questions or concerns of those attending will be addressed.

If you have not yet attended a Wilmington iPlug meeting, please stop by. No pre-registration is needed and there is no cost to attend. All you have to do is show up and look for the projector that is setup at the back of the restaurant. Panera in Fairfax is located at 2311 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE.
