Google announced today on the Official Google Blog that Android Wear now works with iPhones. According to the announcement, only the LG Watch Urbane is currently supported, but all future models of Android Wear SmartWatches will also work on both Android and iPhone Smartphones. Android Wear will pair with an iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6 or 6 Plus running at least iOS 8.2.
It will be interesting to see how the Android Wear Watches compete with the Apple Watch on Features. Use of previous Smartwatches that “supported” iOS also meant a limited feature set. The Official Google Blog indicates that you will be able to check information like phone calls, messages and notifications from your favorite apps with just a glance. Fitness goals will also be supported. However, no details were provided of whether responses will be possible using an Android Wear Watch.
